TEKURA thrills ghanaians at Furnidec fair

Tekura is an emerging brand in the furniture and decor industry.Tekura produces unique and exquisite handcrafted furniture, home accessories and  decorative pieces for local and international markets. At the just ended National Furniture & Decor Fair organized by Xodus communications Tekura stood out as one of many if not the only company with its products uniquely made in Ghana.

Visitors passing through admired the unique and beautiful furniture and accessories displayed at the Tekura stand. The great thing about Tekura is their multipurpose products which can fit in every part of the home or office or wherever one desires. Tekura is making Ghana proud with their made in Ghana stools, tables benches, masks, consoles, , mirrors,etc. promoting African art and culture through innovation and creativity.
Lets take a quick look at Tekura's background. Tekura was founded in 2000 by husband and wife, Mr. Emmanuel Kweku Forson and Mrs. Josephine Mensah Forson. Tekura has been successful in the export market, exporting mainly to USA and Europe however Tekura aspires to take over the local market and identify itself as a unique and well known brand in Ghana and thus the establishment of a local outlet at Roman Ridge, opposite Accra Girl's Secondary School, Equitorial Plaza same building as Choice fm.

Tekura has also featured in many international magazines and local television shows.
Tekura's vision is to lead and catalyze revival and growth in the Furniture and Decor Industry in Ghana and Africa and leave a legacy for posterity.

Perming my hair was the long-awaited moment of freedom from the many years of compulsory cutting of hair per the rules of mainstream education. Let’s gives our children the right start! Let’s Be Fair Ghana!

Elizabeth lifts her hand swiftly as soon as her teacher asks for a volunteer to read out a passage to the class. Her teacher calls on her and she marches boldly to the board, reads loudly and clearly and is rewarded with a round of applause. I was proud of her. I got to meet Elizabeth when I had the opportunity to visit Sandema in the Upper East Region during a field visit with UNICEF. Elizabeth is a primary 3 pupils of Alama Basic School. Elizabeth and her classmates impressed me. It was very evident that they understood the passage and each of them took turns going to the board. This scene alone made it all worth it. It may be hard to believe, but 7 children in primary 3 out of every 10 in Ghana are unable to read and write even though they should be able to. This begs the question, are we being fair to our children? If this number of children at that age cannot read or write how do we prepare them to learn others skills?    continued to wat...
