Why Ghanaians are for Brexit!

It’s not my first time in Europe but certainly my first time in England and Oh boy! What a coincidence! I’m here at a time when United Kingdom is deciding on whether to stay or leave the European Union. I am in London at the invitation of the Queen as a member of the International leadership pogram-ILP UK to learn more about British politics and culture. A little over a week here and not much of this historic referendum plays out in visible sign posts, placards or billboards that characterises African campaigns. It is more of the battle of ideas- here in London you would be struck by the never-ending conversations especially in the British media whether to remain in the EU or to exit. In coffee shops, on television or the radio two words that you cannot miss are Brexit and Bremain! Brexit refers to those who want the UK to leave the European Union whiles Bremain stands for those who want to keep the status quo. To illustrate how serious the debate has been, a l...

End of Israel Diaries; Francisca meets handsome Iskas

After visits to the 'temple' of the holy virgin Mary; the Garden of Gethsemane where Jesus was reputed to have prayed whilst his disciples slept; after being struck by the horrors of the past kept in present day Holocaust History Museum in Palestine; after getting a pass at me and oo a marriage proposal from a man nearly my father's age who claimed to have seen Jesus while tendering the flowers in the Garden of Gethsemane, it was time for food during the most famous visit to the holy land of Israel. Myself and other colleagues from some media organizations in Ghana settled for a dinner at a plush restaurant after a long day's work. A lot of the team “ISRAEL CREW” absented themselves because they were growing tired of the menu which often included egg plant and a lot of other things made from olives. It wasn’t so bad for me though because there were days with rice, shrimps, pasta and other familiar menu. While some team members had some challenge with the menu, th...

Francisca's ISRAEL DIARIES: A pass at me or did Fayez really see Jesus?

I have been hit-on by many men and 'bounced' several others but the last thing i expected was to be proposed to by the gardener of Gethsemane- Fayez, the same man who was supposed to have seen Jesus Christ. And don't ask me what my answer to him was. Ever since my last article I been asked a lot of questions regarding my interaction with Fayez and  what exactly he saw at this place where Jesus Christ prayed and shed tears of blood while his disciples slept. Well you may or may not believe Fayez actually saw Christ, but here are his words "two years ago I saw the shadow of Jesus. I saw Jesus and when I closed and opened my eyes, [there was] nothing." However the conversation shifted a bit off gear and frankly I didn't know where it was going until the 'bombshell' came. Fayez asked me if I had any children. I said no, not yet. He then plucked an olive branch which he gave to me for the blessing of fertility. He shot another question at me. A...

Why we HATE the Ghanaian woman!

A number of boys (in breach of the law) publicly broadcast a sex video to shame one actor in the video- the woman who engaged in consensual sex with a man who MAY have recorded her without her knowledge. Shall we name, shame and prosecute these psychopaths whose place is not a higer learning & thinking institution! ‪#‎ punishrevengeporn‬ Shall we not trivialize the serious gender issue ingrained in this patriarchal society. Sex videos emerging from Ghana's universities is nothing new. The victims almost always are women. This is what we do to our women, the custodians of our society! Sex is a shameful act for a woman, it's a gift from a woman to a man, her loss, a burden, the depreciation of her honour and the opposite for our dear men. Look at how we have operationally defined and use certain words like prostitute or gold digger to refer to who? WOMEN! ...We seem to forget that women make and keep the society, of course with support from some great men. I recently saw...
