Endure hardship as discipline

I really wish i had read Hebrews 12:7 last year or even earlier, then i would have been prepared for the trials that came my way.The Bible says, " Endure hardship as discipline, God is treating you like sons. For what son is not disciplined by his father." What happened during those difficult times is really not important but rather the lessons learned. A well  known Ghanaian preacher man recently said that the world is hostile and no wonder babies cry when they enter it. Life they say is not a bed of roses, how little we devote much thought into such sayings as this. For the most part of our lives they become cliches we use in our daily interactions and public speeches. I would say, that life is like a sinking ship. It does not matter which part of the ship you hold on firmly to, because the whole ship will eventually sink.
